Turmeric Tea



Turmeric tea is a good tea to drink in the evening as the day is winding down. It aids relaxation and is said to boost the immune system while sleeping. I have a quick and easy recipe I use often during the chilly nights of winter. This tea use all the components necessary to get the complete benefit of turmeric: heat, black pepper to activate the turmeric, the fat from cashew milk to aid absorption, and ginger for taste as well as an additional immune boost. A sweetener may be added to taste.

Ingredients

  • 2  cups water
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup cashew milk

Directions

  • Bring two cups of water to a simmer
  • Mix together spices
  • Add the above ingredients and cashew milk carefully to a high speed blender
  • Blend and serve immediately 
Caution: turmeric can cause stains
