Tiny Kitchen

For He satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.   Psalm 107:9

Missing the kitchen space in Florida

I have been working on getting adjusted to my new kitchen in the Pacific Northwest; I guess you might call it a tiny kitchen.

June 1, but I am still not used to the clouds and chill so I decided to make cabbage soup for supper. The cabbage I chopped up today can be traced back to the family of the same mustard plant Jesus used in His parables. In its uncultivated form, brassica includes the mustard plants and wild cabbage. The health benefits of this family are numerous and the cabbage soup from the Daniel Diet are enjoyed by many on their way to good health.

Vegetarian Main Course Cabbage Soup
  • Cabbage- half head cut in spoon size pieces
  • Onion- one, diced
  • Carrot- one large
  • Potatoes- two large cut in spoon size pieces
  • Season with garlic, salt, pepper, and other herbs to taste
  • 4 cups broth or water

Cook potatoes, onions, and carrots in the broth first until almost done. Add cabbage and any leftover veggies , tomatoes and cook about 30 more minutes. Adjust the seasonings.
This is just a very basic soup but any number of additional vegetables, grains, beans, or even meat can be added to make it one you will enjoy.

Garnish with sliced green onions.
Words for today:
Daniel 1:8-14
Matthew 13:31-32
